Article: Why hospices must collaborate to acquire goods and services

This opinion piece in e-Hospice UK, has been written by the Chair of Trustees at St Catherine's Hospice, Crawley following his first attendance at the Hospice Quality Partnership (HQP) meeting .  He comes from a business background and notes that the 200 UK hospices across the UK spend around £500 million annually – excluding salaries – on the goods and services needed to deliver care.  His organisation is joining HQP to explore the benefits and financial savings of collaborative purchasing and encourages other hospices to consider this as an option.
